. now i want to bring in cnn's becky anderson also there in london. so, becky, how is romney's visit going over with ordinary brits? have they even noticed he's there? >> i've just conducted my -- it's going to be said fairly unscientific straw poll on the streets of london here right outside the houses of parliament asking people whether they knew mitt romney was or whether they cared about what he says. and it's got to be said nobody knew who he was. that doesn't mean that not everybody in britain is interested in his comments but he's not really making headlines in the newspapers. for example the only paper mitt romney was quoted in or certainly his aides off the record were quoted in was the "daily telegraph" here and he made page 16. not even a full page. it's a very, very small part of the newspaper here. the writer swon sway picking up on these comments from an aide of romney that he would restore anglo saxon understanding to the uk and the u.s.'s relationship in picking up on the fact that some people might read that as racist when given that the aide was reported as also say

terrorism are here in colorado for the aspen institute security forum that's co-sponsored with cnn and "new york times." today i had a chance to conduct the first-ever public in-depth interview with u.s. navy admiral who planned the raid that killed osama bin laden. admiral william mcraven may not be a household name, but as you're about to see, he's a genuine u.s. hero. this is the guy who's sitting right here who had the guts to tell the commander in chief we should do it, let's do it. and when you ordered that raid and when you said -- you didn't even know for sure that bin laden was abbottabad at that compound about a mile or so away from the west point of pakistan, did you? >> let me make one thing clear, i didn't order the raid. >> but he told the president of the united states that he thought he could do it. to cnn about foreign policy and he can talk to harratz about foreign policy? it doesn't make sense to me. he could put out being overly critical. he would say, look, these are the principles i would take if i were president or something like that. it's kind of a strange thing. without knowing what's in the interview that he gave to the israeli -- why can't he talk to them and not us? >> well, i don't know what's in it. although i would be surprised you're giving an interview to an israeli newspaper you're talking about things like iran or the palestinian issue. what i still don't understand about it. president obama, remember when he went overseas in 2008? he gave that big speech about -- and it was, you know, the thing that he's best at, right, giving an inspirational speech, and here's what he said about foreign policy on the trip he took while running for president. >> this is the moment we must help answer the call for a new dawn in the middle east. my country must stand with yours and with europe in sending a direct message to iran, that it must abandon its nuclear ambitions. we mus

done. a close source to the jackson family did tell cnn that shortly before 1:00 a.m. this morning katherine jackson arrived home to be reunited with the family. the police didn't follow the family the entire way from arizona. it was just the last part of the trip. katherine was accompanied by her children in the car. i can only wonder what happened when they all arrived to the house. and paris jackson, michael's daughter, welcomed her grandmother back with a tweet reading, grandma's home, with a #thank yougood. paris had been complaining she hadn't been able to talk to her grandmother. katherine tried to reassure everyone in her prepared statement last night that everything was ok. let's watch that. >> there are rumors going around about me that i've been kidnapped and held against my will. i'm here today to let everybody know that i'm fine, and i'm here with my children, and my children would never do a thing like that, hold me against my will. it's very stupid. >> still doesn't explain why katherine apparently left in the first place without letting the kids know where she was g

on with cnn, and after the fact, after he met with david cameron. he's overseas, london, poland, israel, to billiolster his fore policy cred, but would you say he was off to a bit of a rocky start, is that fair? >> i think this is probably we in the media making more of this than it deserves. but i would say this, brooke, he does seem, in general, not very well briefed on foreign policy. for example, you know, while this was a very minor issue, i think that one of the first rules, you know, when you're kind of a visiting dignitary is you never criticize the host country for anything. you say, i have full confidence in the british authorities, i'm sure they're doing best, you in no way raise suspicions. the only issue, there is something slightly amateurish in the way in which romney has been handling foreign policy. if you take something like afghanistan, he criticized the president for the withdrawal, for the timeline, for the date of withdrawal. in his last speech, he comes out in favor of exactly the same date and exactly the same withdrawal. he's criticized the president on syria, a
